Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pg Muhammad Farisan Bin Pg Hj Metassan started his military career in the RBAF on 09 April 2001 and commissioned as a Second Lieutenant from Royal Australian Air Force College Williams, Point Cook, Australia on 24 January 2003.
He graduated with a psc from Air Command and Staff College, Royal Thai Air Force, Kingdom of Thailand in 2019.
He is an Air Force Supply Officer by vocation where he attended his Supply Officer Training Course in Department of Specialist Ground Training Royal Air Force, Cranwell United Kingdom. Apart from logistic courses, he has attended other professional development courses such as Junior Staff Course, Contract Management Course, Instructor's Fitness Awareness Course, Systematic Approach to Training (SAT), Phycological Leadership Course, Institution of Occupational and Safety (IOSH), Lead Auditor Course and Tetra Map Facilitator Course.
His career highlights include serving on overseas mission namely Aceh Monitoring Mission as Team Member between 2005-2006 and International Monitoring Team (IMT-12) as Deputy Team Site Leader for Brunei Darussalam Contingent between 2015-2016. His most recent operational experience was as the 2ic Logistics for RBAF Task Force Support during the first wave of Covid-19 in 2020. Other significant contribution, was being the head of project for producing the 1st Edition of Royal Brunei Air Force Core Values Hand Book in 2013.
Lieutenant Colonel (U) Pg Muhammad Farisan has held Logistics post in Logistics Wing RBAirF. However, throughout his career he has had the opportunity of holding several posts outside logistics domain, such as Wing Commander in Officer Cadet School, Officer Command of 65 Squadron, Staff Officer Grade 2 Inspectorate RBAirF, Staff Officer Grade 2 A7 and Staff Officer Grade 2 Logistics, Directorate of Logistics, MINDEF. Upon graduating from his Air Command and Staff Course, he was posted as the first local officer to hold 2ic post at Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy RBAF. Prior to holding the Commanding Officer of No. 4 Wing RBAirF, he was the Commanding Officer of School of Military Trade, Training Institute RBAF.
He was awarded with The Most Meritorious Service Medal (P.J.K) in 2006 and Long Service Medal and Good Conduct (PKLPB) in 2022. In 2006, he received the European Union and ASEAN Monitoring Mission Medal, Aceh Indonesia, Satya Lancana Dharma Nusa Indonesia Medal from Republic of Indonesia and Military Merit Medal from Republic of Philippine in 2016.
He is married to Noraizah binti Haji Jaáfar and blessed with four kids. He plays chess, football, golf and also a fitness enthusiast
